Gateway to the 10,000 Islands

Quick access to great Everglades fishing

Welcome to a small slice of fishing paradise, located in the quaint, old Florida fishing village of Everglades City, a destination for those seeking world-class inshore and nearshore species found in abundance throughout the year. Come shake off the stress and relax! Enjoy waking to the early morning noises of the Everglades coming to life, and experience the excitement of fish crashing lures and drags screaming under the pressure of trophy fish. Or maybe you’d prefer to glide quietly through the back country, kayaking in solitude, enjoying the plant, bird and wildlife as the sun rises on a true wilderness. Snook, tarpon, redfish, seatrout and other species can be caught within minutes of the ramp!

Whatever brings you to Everglades City, I welcome you to enjoy the simple comforts of our rental at Glades Haven, conveniently located directly across from the Everglades National Park office. Make no mistake: this is not a luxury, 5-star resort, but a very pleasant and well-established fish camp with privately owned cabins that are fully furnished and equipped to meet your angling forays, quiet getaway or just a night away from the mainstream hustle and bustle.  My cabin has room for 4-6 people, depending on sleeping requirements: one bedroom with two twin beds, a loft with a twin bed and room for another if needed, and a futon that folds out to a full size bed.  Cable TV is included, as is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and full-size range with oven and refrigerator. Enjoy a complete bath with shower after a long day on the water, and stay cool and comfortable with air conditioning and ceiling fans and an attached outdoor completely screened porch w/ceiling fan that is perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. The porch as is actually nice and cool with the onshore breezes keeping it pleasant as you recount your adventures during lunch and early evening. There is plenty of parking for your boat trailer and vehicle, a cleaning table (freshwater wash-down included) for filleting your day’s catch, and Shrimp the Wondercat will gladly take care of your extra scraps. Best of all, a paved boat launch is literally steps from the front of the cabin — the easiest in and out in Everglades City! If you prefer to leave your boat in the water overnight it’s no problem, as a boat slip in the marina is dedicated to cabin # 7, so you can rise early and leave quickly.

Want to have a cocktail after your boating adventure? There are a number of watering holes in Everglades City in addition to several restaurants, both of which are represented just on the other side of the marina with Oysterhouse Restaurant and Bar and Glades Haven Deli preparing delicious boxed lunches and while also offering live and frozen bait, ice, and tackle should you need to replace/repair what you have used during the day. In addition, the only package liquor store in Everglades City is on the premises, as well. Want to take a refreshing swim after being out on the water? Take a dip in a heated pool reserved for owners and rental guests only. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime fishing adventure — or have been coming to Everglades City for years– come find out how easy it is to lose the rest of the world in an authentic fishing cabin.
